If you get ill or will be wounded during your visit in Arjeplog / Slagnäs you can, with confidence, contact Arjeplogs Vårdcentral ( The Health Centre of Arjeplog), dial + 46 (0)961 14800, but

…in case of emergency, phone 112

(You’ll be asked what’s happened and where, your name and your phone number).

During day time, Monday – Friday, medical doctors, nurses and other specialists are in duty. During weekends and nights medical doctors and nurses are always in a state of alert.
Normally you can see a medical doctor the same day as you call, but if you don’t need emergency care you can book a suitable time.
The nursing staffs have good knowledge of languages.

The health centre has two well equipped ambulances and they are always manned with well educated and experienced nurses. In the region are also ambulance helicopters located, each manned with a medical doctor and a nurse.

If your illness or bodily injury can’t be treated in Arjeplog you’ll be referred to specialists at the regional hospitals of Luleå, Piteå or Umeå.

When you visit the health centre you have to bring your passport or another identification document. If you are a citizen of EU you also ought to bring your ”European Health Insurance Card”. Then you pay the same fees as a Swede, 150 – 250 Skr, (16 – 28 €). If you don’t have this card you have to pay 600 – 1800 Skr.
If you live in a country outside EU you have to pay fees depending on national agreements between your home country and Sweden.
